San Francisco, CA, 7 October 2006 - The Guided missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) passes under the Golden Gate Bridge while entering San Francisco Bay during the Parade of Ships, a key event during San Francisco Fleet Week 2006. Since 1981, San Francisco Fleet Week has been an annual opportunity for Northern Californians to honor the men and women serving in the United States Navy, Coast Guard and Marines. This year approximately 9,000 crew members on visiting ships will arrive in the City to participate in Fleet Week. Ship’s tours and community service projects are scheduled throughout the Bay Area.

Pacific Ocean, August 14, 2007 - Nimitz (CVN 68), Kitty Hawk (CV 63) and John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Carrier Strike Groups transit in formation during a joint photo exercise (PHOTOEX) during Valiant Shield 2007, the largest joint exercise in the Pacific this year. Held in the Guam operating area, Valiant Shield 2007 included 30 ships, more than 280 aircraft and more than 20,000 service members from the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

The aerial formation, led by an Air Force B-52 Stratofortress, consists of aircraft from the carrier strike groups as well as Air Force aircraft. Ships are, left to right: guided missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90); nuclear-propelled aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), followed by the guided missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) and the guided missile destroyers USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) and USS Pinckney (DDG 91); nuclear-propelled attack submarine USS Hampton (SSN 767); aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), followed by the guided missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63) and guided missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89); nuclear-propelled attack submarine USS Key West (SSN 722); nuclear-propelled aircraft carrier USS John C. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG) recently participated in an ESF with the Essex (LHD 2) Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG). The ESF exercise was designed to test the ability of the Strike Groups to plan and conduct multi-task force operations across a broad spectrum of naval disciplines and to refresh skills in completing complex missions that require capabilities that are broader in scope than the individual Strike Groups can provide alone.

PACIFIC OCEAN, 18 July 2012 - The guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) underway during the Great Green Fleet demonstration portion of the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2012 exercise. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from Jun. 29 to Aug. 3, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2012 is the 23rd exercise in the series that began in 1971.
