  • During World War II USS Barr first served the the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater as Destroyer Escort DE-576 and later in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater as High Speed Transport APD-39, assigned TransDiv One Hundred Five, CAPT. J. M. Kennaday USN, and participated in the following campaigns:
