  • Launched, 11 November 1943
  • Commissioned USS Hubbard (DE-211), 6 March 1944, LCDR. Louis C. Mabley, USNR in command
  • Converted to a Charles Lawrence Class High-speed Transport at Sullivan Dry Dock, Brooklyn N.Y.
  • Redesignated (APD-53), 1 June 1945
  • During World War II USS Hubbard (APD-53) was assigned to the American and Europe-Africa-Middle East Theaters and participated in the following operations:

    Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign
    Attack and sinking of U-546 24 April 1945. Attack and sinking of U-248 16 January 1945.

  • Decommissioned, 15 March 1946, at Green Cove Springs FL. and laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet, Green Cove Springs
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 1 May 1966
  • USS Hubbard (DE-211) earned two battle stars for World War II service
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping 1 July 1968
