Air Raid Pearl Harbor This Is No Drill !!!

Sunday December 7 1941

A Photographic History

As a historian, I am still amazed by the events of December 7th 1941. Many theories abound about the events of that day, some based in fact others based upon the imaginations of their authors. The simple undisputed fact remains at 0755 Sunday, December 7th 1941, An Imperial Japanese Naval Task force under the command of Admiral Chuichi Nagumo, launched the biggest surprise attack in history. Having sailed undetected from home waters, Nagumo's 6 carriers launched 350 aircraft in two waves that cripples the US Pacific Fleet as it laid at anchor in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. The following pages are a photographic history of that attack, with images taken by the Japanese and US personal during the actual attack.
