 | 18k | Captain Who Was in Charge of the Battleship Michigan (BB-27)
Captain Albert P. Niblack was in charge of the Battleship Michigan when it grounded off Capes Henry coast on Thanksgiving day. He was feeling his way into the harbor between the Capes Henry & Charles, and as a thick fog had settled down he concluded not to try to make the entrance to Chesapeake.
He anchored some ten miles out to sea. In the morning when the tide went out he found the stern of the vessel, supposed to be in thirty feet of water, was resting on the bottom. He was the 3rd CO of the Michigan; from 04.12.1913 to 04.12.1913 Capehart, Edward Everett, CAPT # 2 [06.10.1911 04.12.1913] is camera shy.
