USS Gettysburg comes along side USS Enterprise (CVN 65) during flight operations, as an EA-6B Prowler from the "Shadowhawks" from Tactical Electronic warfare squadron one four one (VAQ-141) makes a carrier arrested landing. Gettysburg is underway with the Enterprise on a six-month scheduled deployment.

Arabian Sea, Nov. 11, 2003 — The guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG-64), top, and the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65), bottom, underway alongside the fast combat support ship USS Detroit (AOE-4) during a replenishment at sea. The Enterprise Carrier Strike Group (CSG) was on a scheduled deployment conducting missions in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Atlantic Ocean, July 1, 2004 - An MH-60S Knighthawk assigned to the "Chargers" of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron (HC-6) transfers cargo to the guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG 64) during a vertical replenishment with the fast combat support ship USS Detroit (AOE 4). Gettysburg is forward deployed, as part of the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) Carrier Strike Group (CSG). The Enterprise CSG is one of seven participating in Summer Pulse 2004. Summer Pulse 2004 is the simultaneous deployment of seven aircraft strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces. Summer Pulse is the Navy's first deployment under its new Fleet Response Plan (FRP).
