USS Chosin (CG 65) makes her return to sea in June 2002 after a extensive eight-month yard period. She also conducted a three days of sea trials to validate a host modifications and upgrades made to every facet of the ship since entering dry dock in November. USS Chosin homeport is Pearl Harbor, HI.

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii, 16 April 2007 - Pearl Harbor-based guided missile cruiser USS Chosin (CG 65) and guided missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) deploy as part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG). The ships will join ESG-5 and will conduct operations in the Pacific and Central Command areas of responsibility.

PACIFIC OCEAN, 01 March 2014 - Sailors aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Chosin (CG 65) conduct a briefing during a towing operation for the Royal Canadian Navy auxiliary oil replenishment ship HMCS Protecteur (AOR 509) in the Pacific Ocean on 1 March 2014. Chosin is participating in the recovery operations of Protecteur in the waters off the coast of Hawaii.

1.51m USS CHOSIN (CG 65) (center) at Vigor Marine's Harbor Island facility (former Todd Shipyard) from a Seattle ferry on 13 July 2022. In October 2019 it was announced that Chosin would be shifting to Seattle, WA to complete a Depot Level Modernization Period at Vigor Marine's Harbor Island facility starting in December 2019. USS CHOSIN arrived at Vigor Marine's Harbor Island facility in February 2020. In the floating drydocks alongside USS Chosin is an unknown LCS and USS Cape St. George (CG 71)(right). Rick E Davis
