Laid down by Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, June 20 1942.
Launched December 6 1942 and commissioned February 10 1943.
Heavily Damaged by Japanese Kamikaze Aircraft July 19 1945 off Okinawa.
Decommissioned November 18 1945.
Stricken December 5 1945.
Fate Sold January 23 1948 and broken up for scrap.
