The John C. Calhoun (SSBN-630) is aft of YR-78. John C. Calhoun entered MINSY in August, 1969 for a refueling overhaul and conversion from Polaris A-3 to Poseidon C-3 missile systems. Her overhaul was nearly complete at the time the photo was made, and she departed from the yard two weeks later enroute to the Atlantic for missile testing and deployment.
