#7 - A few of the crew getting a wash down.
#8 - R. Sera, a seaman in the Deck Div., clipping hair of a polywog.
#9 - The coveted Domain of Neptunus Rex card along with The Order of the Golden Dragon card issued for crossing the 180th meridian.

This canoe full of Filipinos came out to the ship and sang "God Bless America". They also invited the crew to come ashore and join their festivities. They all were wearing costumes of all colors. The crew had to stay on board as the ship was leaving early the next morning for Basilan Island. Art Searby, LTjg. USNR Asst. Engineer USS Arequipa 1945-1946
