  • Launched, date unknown
  • Delivered to Moore-McCormack Lines, New York
  • Sold to American Export, Isbrandsten Lines, Inc., 19 October 1970, renamed SS Red Jacket
  • Sold to Mediterranean Marine Lines, Inc., 31 August 1977
  • Sold to Farrell Lines, Inc., 28 March 1978
  • Sold to United States Lines, 4 March 1982, renamed SS American Rapid
  • Chartered to the US Navy Military Sealift Command (MSC), 9 April 1982
  • Sold while under charter to MSC to Central Gulf Lines, 18 January 1984, renamed SS Rapid
  • Returned to MARAD by MSC, substituted for SS Rover
  • Assigned to the Ready Reserve Fleet (RRF), 6 March 1987
  • Renamed SS Cape Nome, 12 February 1988
  • Berthed in the James River National Defense Reserve Fleet at Fort Eustis, VA. as part of the Maritime Administration Ready Reserve Fleet
  • Assigned to the Military Sealift Command (MSC) as Cape Nome (AK-1014)
  • Cape Nome (AK-1014) is one of the Military Sealift Command's two Ready Reserve Force Ships and can be activated in 10 days
