  • Laid down, 8 February 1996, as MV Steamer's Future at Wuhu Shipyard in Wuhu, China for the Keppel Corporations, Straits Steamship Company, Singapore
  • Sold in March 2004 to Interorient Steam Ship Co.
  • Resold in April 2004 to Rehder & Arkon, Hamburg, Germany, renamed the ship MV Baffin Strait
  • Sold in October 2004 to TransAtlantic Lines, Greenwich, CT.
  • Contracted by MSC, while owned and operated by Trans Atlantic Lines
  • Placed in service as MV Baffin Strait (AK-W9519) for a charter period from 10 January 2005 to 30 September 2008, to provide service between Singapore and Diego Garcia
  • MV Baffin Strait was of Military Sealift Command's seven Container Ships and is part of the 28 ships in the Sealift Program Office.
