Camano Class Light Cargo Ship:
  • Laid down (date unknown) as FS-407 for the US Army at Hickinbotham Bros. Stockton, CA.
  • Delivered in 1944 to the US Army Transportation Corps
  • During World War II FS-407 was manned by the US Coast Guard for the US Army Transportation Service
  • Acquired by the US Navy, 1 November 1950, and placed in service by the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS) as USNS AKL-31 (T-AKL-31) with MSTSWESTPAC
  • USNS AKL-31 operated out of Naha carrying passengers and cargo to USAF Radar Sites on the islands of Kume, Miyake and Ishigaki. (William T. Lyons Master USNS-AKL-31, 11 April to 29 June 1955)
  • Placed out of Service (date unknown)
  • Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet
  • Struck from the Naval Register (date unknown)
  • Transferred to the Department of the Interior, Government of the Pacific Trust Territories, 1975, renamed M/V Robert De Brum
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
