  • Laid down, 17 April 1943, as a Maritime Commission type (T-2-SE-A1) tanker hull, under Maritime Commission contract, (MC hull 544), at Alabama Dry Dock and Shipbuilding Co., Mobile, AL.
  • Launched, 15 September 1943
  • Delivered to the Maritime Commission, 29 October 1943, operated by American Trading and Production Corp., Baltimore, MD. under a General Agency Agreement for the War Shipping Administration
  • Returned to the Maritime Commission, 20 July 1946, for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, James River Group. Lee Hall, VA.
  • Withdrawn from Reserve, 8 May 1947 for operation by Keystone Shipping Co. under a General Agency Agreement
  • Title transferred to the US Navy 4 April 1948
  • Placed in service by the Naval Transportation Service as Sappa Creek (AO-141), 28 April 1948, operated under charter by Marine Transport Lines
  • Operational control transferred to the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS), 1 October 1949, placed in service as USNS Sappa Creek (T-AO-141)
  • Placed out of service, and returned to the Maritime Administration, 7 December 1959, for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Suisun Bay, Benecia, CA.
  • Title passed to the Maritime Administration, 1 April 1961
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 1 July 1961
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 2 December 1975, to Nation Metal and Steel Corp.(PD-X-1001 dated 17 October 1975), $528,529.19 for four ships, withdrawn from the Reserve Fleet, 13 January 1967, scrapped at Terminal Island, CA.
