  • Launched, 6 May 1943
  • Commissioned USS Agawam (AOG-6), 18 December 1943, at New Orleans, LA., LT. John W. Foster in command
  • During World War II USS Agawam was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Following World War II USS Agawam was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East as well as China service for the following periods;
