The Arkansas Class Monitor Wyoming, was laid down,11 April 1898, at Union Iron Works, San Francisco, CA.; Launched, 8 September 1900; Commissioned, USS Wyoming, 8 December 1902, at Mare Island Navy Yard, Vallejo, CA.; Decommissioned, 29 August 1905, at Mare Island; Recommissioned, 8 October 1908; Renamed USS Cheyenne, 1 January 1909; Decommissioned, 13 November 1909; Recommissioned, 11 July 1910; Decommissioned, 3 January 1920, at Philadelphia Navy Yard, Philadelphia, PA.; Designated Miscellaneous Unclassified USS Cheyenne (IX-4), 17 July 1920; Recommissioned, 22 September 1920; Decommission, 1 June 1926, at Philadelphia; Struck from the Naval Register, 25 January 1937; Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 20 April 1939. Specifications: Displacement 3,226 t.; Length 255' 1"; Beam 50' ; Draft 12' 7" (mean); Armament, two 12" blr., four 4", two 6-pdrs; Propulsion, unknown.
