Midnight Class Non-self Propelled Storage Barge:
  • Laid down, 16 November 1943, as a Maritime Commission type (B7-D1) concrete-hulled barge, under Maritime Commission contract (MC 1334) at Barrett, Hilp & Belair Shipyard, San Francisco, CA.
  • Launched, 2 February 1944
  • Acquired by the Navy and placed in service as Marl (IX-160), 29 August 1944, at San Francisco, CA.
  • During World War II Marl (IX-160) was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Marl (IX-160), assigned Service Squadron 8, was towed to the Philippines to provide facilities for storing and issuing Army and Marine Corps supplies at Leyte
  • Placed out of service, 2 August 1946, at Subic Bay, P.I. and delivered to the WSA for disposal
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 15 August 1946
  • Transferred on charter to the War Department, at Subic Bay, 1 March 1947
  • Sold by the Maritime Commission to the Asia Development Corp. at Cavite, Republic of the Philippines, 4 September 1948
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
