  • Sea Shadow was constructed by Lockheed in the Hughes Mining Barge (HMB-1) at Redwood City, CA.
  • Laid down, date unknown
  • Launched, date unknown
  • Delivered, 1 March 1985
  • Sea Shadow (IX-529) is an experimental "Stealth" ship first used in the Zumwalt (DD-21) class program
  • Placed out of service and laid up at Naval Station San Diego, CA. in 1994
  • Placed in service in March 1999, homeport changed to NAS Alameda, CA.
  • Placed out of service, date unknown
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 22 August 2006
  • Laid up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Suisun Bay, CA. along with Hughes Mining Barge (HMB-1) which is Sea Shadow's covered drydock.
  • Sea Shadow and Hughes Mining Barge (HMB-1) are currently laid up at Suisun Bay and are to be sold at GSA auction
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping in early July 2012, to Bay Ship & Yacht Co. for $2,500.000.00, dismantling completed, 30 November 2012
