Lynn (AG-182)


  • Laid down, 25 June 1945, as SS Lynn Victory a Maritime Commission type (VC2-S-AP2) hull under Maritime Commission contract (MCV hull 847) at Bethlehem Steel, Fairfield, Baltimore, MD.
  • Launched, 15 August 1945
  • Delivered to the Maritime Commission, 20 September 1945, for operation by Isthmian Steamship Co under a War Shipping Authority contract
  • Scheduled to be acquired by the US Navy in February 1966 for conversion to a Forward Depot Ship, the forerunner of the Fast Deployment Logistic Ships
  • Scheduled to be renamed Lynn (AG-182) and placed in service with the Military Sea Transport Service
  • Program canceled, 1 February 1966
  • Final Disposition, scrapped in 1993 at Alang, India
