  • Commissioned USS ARD-31 21 July 1945, at Kaiser Company, Inc., Richmond No. 3 Yard, Richmond CA., LT. Francis W. Barrington, in command
  • During and after World War II ARD-31 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and served at Guam, Okinawa, and back to Guam, Marianas Islands (circa 1947)
  • Following World War II USS ARD-31 was assigned to Occupation and China service in the Far East for the following periods:

  • Decommissioned At Long Beach, CA., circa September 1947

  • Loaned the US Air Force circa 1956, towed to Tuktoyaktuk Harbor, Northwest Territories, Canada to provide support services to vessels engaged in the support DEW line sites along the western Canadian Arctic USAF and Canadian DEW Line Support Service
  • Placed out of service (date unknown)
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 1 April 1974
  • Transferred to Northern Transportation Company Limited, a Canadian Co. (date unknown)
  • Final Disposition, sold for commercial service to MarCom Inc., Portland OR. circa 2000
