  • Shakamaxon was ordered from the Philadelphia Navy Yard, 4 November 1863
  • Laid down before the end of the year Civil War
  • Since the ship was still on the ways at the end of the Civil War, work on her was suspended, 30 November 1865
  • She was renamed Hecla, 15 June 1869
  • Renamed Nebraska, 10 August 1869
  • Broken up on the ways between January 1874 and March 1875
