During the Civil War USS Tahoma was assigned to the East Gulf Blockading Squadron
Tahoma remained with this force for her entire career through the Civil War
Decommissioned, 23 July 1864, at New York Navy Yard, for repairs
Recommissioned, 13 April 1865
Decommissioned, 27 July 1865
Recommissioned in the fall of 1866, assigned to the Gulf Squadron
