Purchased by the US Navy, 18 May 1861, and placed in service, Act. Ensign Samuel G. Swain, in officer in charge
William Badger was assigned as a stationary supply ship at Hampton Roads for the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron
Towed in July 1862 to the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron base at Beaufort, N.C.
Placed out of service and sold, 17 October 1865, at auction at Beaufort to a CAPT. James Abel
Final Disposition, broken up shortly after being sold to CAPT. Abel
