  • Purchased by the Navy, 16 November 1864, at New York from Samuel M. Pook
  • Commissioned, USS Hibiscus, 29 December 1864, LT. William L. Martine in command
  • Hibiscus patrolled out of Tampa until the end of July 1865
  • Decommissioned, 19 August 1865, at New York was sold 5 October 1866. re-documented as SS Francis Wright
  • Final Disposition, sunk off New Jersey, 2 April 1873, (See New York Times, 2 May 1873, page 8). The shipwreck known to local divers as the Emerald Wreck
