Sternwheel Steamer (Tinclad No. 33)
  • Built as the wooden merchant steamer Banker at Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1863
  • Acquired by the Navy at Cincinnati in May 1863
  • Commissioned USS Victory at Cincinnati, 8 July 1863,
  • Formally purchased by the Navy, 15 July 1863
  • Victory served with the Mississippi Squadron for the duration of the war, performing patrol, reconnaissance, convoy, and dispatch duty
  • On 14 April 1864, she helped to repulse a raid upon Paducah, Kentucky
  • On 4 November 1864, Victory participated in the defense of Johnsonville, TN., in an attack led by LT. Gen. Nathan B. Forrest's cavalry
  • Decommissioned, 30 June 1865, at Mound City, IL.
  • Sold at public auction at Mound City to W. Thorwegen, 17 August 1865
  • Redocumented as Lizzie Tate, 7 October 1865
  • Hijacked in 1867 for 5 days
  • Reduced to a barge, 22 November 1867
  • Final Disposition, dismantled in 1869
