CAPT Eric J. Anduze, USN
Commanding Officer

CAPT Eric J. Anduze is a native of Manati, PR. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1993.

Upon earning his commission, he reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, for flight training and earned his “Wings of Gold” from Naval Air Station Meridian, MS, in April of 1996. He was selected to fly F-14 Tomcats and reported to the “Grim Reapers” of Fighter Squadron 101 (VF-101).

Following completion of F-14A training at VF-101, CAPT Anduze joined the “Black Aces” of Fighter Squadron 41 (VF-41) and made 2 Mediterranean deployments aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), where he conducted combat missions over Kosovo in support of OPERATION ALLIED FORCE/NOBLE ANVIL. In January 2001, CAPT Anduze again reported to VF-101 as an F-14 instructor. While at VF-101, he was selected to attend “Top Gun” and earned qualification as a Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor.

In October 2002, CAPT Anduze reported to the “Black Knights” of Fighter Squadron 154 (VF-154) and served as the Training Officer. While assigned to VF-154 he completed a deployment aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), where he conducted combat missions in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF).

In August of 2003, he reported to the “World Famous Pukin’ Dogs” of Fighter Squadron 143 (VF-143) where he served as the Training, Administration, Maintenance and Operations Officer. While at the Pukin’ Dogs he completed 2 Mediterranean deployments aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), one flying the F-14B Tomcat and one flying the F/A-18E Super Hornet, and conducted missions in support of OIF and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF).

In December 2006, he reported to US Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, VA, where he served as Concept Development Project lead. CAP

T Anduze rejoined the Pukin’ Dogs in August 2010, as Executive Officer and commanded VFA-143 from December 2011 to February 2013, deploying aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) in support of OEF.

Following command, he reported to COMNAVAIRLANT as the Director of Aviation Training and Readiness before being selected to the Aviation Nuclear Power pipeline. In June 2015, he completed the Naval Nuclear Power training program and reported to USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) where he served as the Executive Officer until September 2017.

CAPT Anduze has accumulated more than 3200 flight hours and 850 arrested landings. He is the recipient of various personal and campaign awards including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, six Strike/Flight Air Medals, an Individual Air Medal (with Combat V), three Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals (one with combat V), and three Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
