  • During World War II USS LCS(L)(3)-87 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the following campaign:

    Okinawa Gunto operation
    Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, 1 April to 30 June 1945
  • Following World War II USS LCS(L)-(3)-87 performed occupation duty in the Far EAst
  • Decommissioned, date unknown
  • Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet, Columbia River Group, Astoria, OR.
  • Redesignated Landing Ship Support Large USS LSSL-87, 28 February 1949
  • Transferred to Japan, 30 March 1953, named JDS Hamagiku (YS-91)
  • Returned to US custody, date unknown
  • Refitted as a drone carrier in 1958
  • Struck from the Naval Register in 1967
  • Transferred to the Philippines 17 November 1975, for spare parts
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
