CAPT. Kieth G. Moore, USN
A native of Winona, MS, Captain Moore enlisted in the Navy in 1982 and attended Cryptologic Technician Technical “A” school. After a two-year tour in Misawa, Japan, he was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) program. Upon completion of BOOST and Naval ROTC at the University of Mississippi, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and was commissioned in May of 1990.

At sea Moore completed six deployments to the Western Pacific/Indian Ocean/Arabian Gulf and Southern Pacific Ocean/Caribbean Sea. His early sea assignments include tours in USS BERKELEY (DDG 15), USS GRIDLEY (CG 21), twice in USS PELELIU (LHA 5) and USS OLDENDORF (DD 972). Moore was Executive Officer aboard USS MCCLUSKY (FFG 41 as well as Chief Staff Officer in Destroyer Squadron Twenty-One. He commanded USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42) from January 2008 through October 2009, completing a Western Pacific/Arabian Gulf deployment and the first LSD mid-life upgrade on the West Coast. He reported as Deputy for COMPHIBRON 1 in October 2013.

Ashore Moore served as the lead Surface Warfare Analyst for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation Directorate (OSD, CAPE). He was also assigned as the Force C5I Officer (N6) on the staff of Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific and served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in the N6 Strategic Initiatives Branch. While assigned to the OPNAV N6 billet he augmented N3/5’s Navy Command Center Crisis Action Team immediately following 9/11. Moore earned a Master of Science degree in Operational Logistics from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1997 and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He has also been designated as a Joint Qualified Officer. Moore’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
