Note that two of her original four twin 3"/50 gun mounts had been removed, along with the Mk.56 and Mk.63 gunfire control systems, but she had not yet received Phalanx.     Shreveport 69k Shreveport (LPD-12) arrives in Ash Shuaybah, Kuwait, 8 August 2004, joining Wasp (LHD 1) to backload Marines and cargo attached to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable.
