CAPT. Todd Robert Marzano, USN
Commanding Officer

CAPT Todd Marzano is from Denver, Colorado and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering (with High Distinction) from the University of Colorado in May of 1992. Upon completing Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida, he was commissioned in December of 1992.

His first fleet assignment was in July of 1996 with the VFA-94 “Mighty Shrikes” at NAS Lemoore, California. During this tour he deployed aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63) and USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) in support of Operation SOUTHERN WATCH.

In July 1999, he was selected to the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) Class 05-99 in Fallon, Nevada. After graduating he reported back to NAS Lemoore, California as a Tactics Instructor with Strike Fighter Weapons School Pacific (SFWSP) from October 1999 to October 2001.

In November of 2001 he reported to the VFA-147 “Argonauts” at NAS Lemoore, California as the squadron’s Training Officer. During this tour he completed a 2001-2002 combat cruise aboard USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN-74) in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and a 2003 WESTPAC deployment aboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70).

CAPT Marzano remained with VFA-147 in November of 2003 for his Department Head tour where he completed a 2005 combat cruise aboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Following his Department Head tour, CAPT Marzano was assigned to the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island and earned a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.

While attending the Naval War College, he screened for Operational Command and was ordered to the VFA-146 "Blue Diamonds" as Executive Officer in March 2008 and assumed the duties as Commanding Officer in May 2009.

In September of 2010 he was assigned to USNORTHCOM in Colorado Springs, Colorado and served in the Future Operations Division as the Homeland Defense Branch Chief.

During his tour at USNORTHCOM he was selected for the Aviation Nuclear Officer program and served as the Executive Officer onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72) from October 2014 to September 2016 and USS NIMITZ (CVN-68) from October of 2016 to April 2017.

CAPT Marzano has logged over 3000 flight hours and accumulated over 800 carrier arrested landings. His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, four Strike Flight Medals, and numerous unit, campaign and service awards. Additionally, he was awarded the 2005 Michael G. Hoff CNAP Attack Aviator of the Year and was selected for the 2004 Navy and Marine Association (NMAA) Peer Leadership Award.
