CAPT. Ian J. Scaliatine, USN
Commanding Officer

Captain Ian Scaliatine is a native of southern California and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with the Class of 2000.

At sea, Captain Scaliatine served as Commanding Officer in USS MITSCHER (DDG 57), USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6), USS SENTRY (MCM 3), and USS GLADIATOR (MCM 11); Executive Officer in MITSCHER; Chief Engineer in SENTRY and GLADIATOR; Fire Control and Assistant Operations Officer in USS BULKELEY (DDG 84); Repair Division Officer aboard USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44).

Ashore, his staff assignments include serving as a Tomahawk instructor at the Center for Surface Combat Systems; Navy Strategy and Policy (OPNAV N51) action officer; and special assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Most recently, he served as the first Commanding Officer of Mariner Skills Training Center Atlantic.

Captain Scaliatine received a master’s degree from Old Dominion University and completed joint professional education through the Naval War College and the Joint Forces Staff College.
