CDR. Rod Jacobo, USN
Commanding Officer

Commander Rod Jacobo enlisted in the United States Navy on 4 September 1990 and was selected for the Enlisted Commission Program in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Old Dominion University. He also holds a Master’s of Science Degree from the Naval War College.

At sea, Commander Jacobo served as the Auxiliaries Officer and Communications Officer aboard USS Mahan (DDG 72) and also served as the Auxiliaries Officer aboard USS Hawes (FFG 53). He served as the Engineering Officer aboard USS Barry (DDG 52) and aboard USS New York (LPD 21) completing several Mediterranean and Persian Gulf deployments. Most recently, he served as the Executive Officer aboard USS Oak Hill (LSD 51)

Ashore, Commander Jacobo served as a Naval Academy Professional Development Instructor, Requirements Officer for N95 in the Pentagon and a Joint Planner in the Special Technical Operations Division (J39) of the Joint Staff, Washington DC.

His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various campaign and service awards.
