LCI(L)-243 was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 for the duration of WWII
LCI-1 Class Landing Craft Infantry (Large):
  • Laid down as LCI(L)-243 in October 1942 at Todd, Eyrie, Barber, N.J.
  • Launched, in November 1942
  • Transferred, 28 November 1942, under terms of the Lend-Lease Act to the United Kingdom
  • Converted to LCI(S) Canada, versions of the US Flotilla Flag Ship LC(FF)
  • Commissioned into the Canadian Navy as HM LCI(S)-243 in 1943
  • Returned to US Naval custody, 1 September 1947
  • Struck from the Naval Register, date unknown
  • Transferred to the State Department for disposal and sold in May 1948
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
