    LCI(L)-1055 156k Two Japanese Prisoners of War aboard USS LCI(M)-1055 at Okinawa, 10-11 April 1945. Crewmen from LCI-1055 were snooping around the caves of Okinawa when they surprised these two Japanese men working on a crash boat, took them prisoner, "liberated" the crash boat, and took their prisoners back to their ship. The photo from John A. Arruebarrena, Sr. S1/c USS LCI(M)-1011 accompanied part two of the article "The Wartime Diary of Robert O'Conner, USS LCI(M)-1059", which was transcribed and submitted by Jim Nance, USS LCI(M)-1059 in the US Landing Craft Infantry National Association Newsletter "The Elsie Item" August 2005.
