Commissioned USS LST-43, 6 October 1943
During World War II LST-43 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the:
- Marshall Islands operation;
(a) Occupation of Kwajalein and Majuro Atolls, 29 January to 8 February 1944
While moored in the West Loch at Peal Harbor LST-43 was destroyed by exploding ordinance and sunk, 21 May 1944
Struck from the Naval Register, 18 July 1944
Final Disposition, raised but deemed beyond economical repair and subsequently sunk by torpedoes in 1945
LST-43 earned one battle star for World War II service
