  • Following service in the Southwest Pacific Area USS LST-1029 was assigned to:
    LST Flotilla Six, CAPT. E. L. Jungerfeld, USNR
    LST Group Seventeen, CAPT. E. Watts, USN;
    LST Division Thirty-Four
  • Following World War II USS LST-1029 was assigned to Occupation Service in the Far East from 2 September to 27 October 1945
  • Decommissioned, 1 May 1946
  • Sold, 31 October 1946, to the Suwannee Fruit & Steamship Co., Jacksonville, FL.
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 10 June 1947
  • USS LST-1029 earned two battle stars for World War II service
  • Final Disposition, sunk in 1972 as part of the Casablanca artificial reef at 30.17.480N 80.49.430W, about 100 miles East of Jacksonville, FL.

    Cargo Capacity (varied with mission - payloads between 1600 and 1900 tons)
    Typical loads
    One Landing Craft Tank (LCT), tanks, wheeled and tracked vehicles, artillery, construction equipment and military supplies. A ramp or elevator forward allowed vehicles access to tank deck from main deck
    Additional capacity included sectional pontoons carried on each side of vessel amidships, to either build Rhino Barges or use as causeways. Married to the bow ramp, the causeways would enabled payloads to be delivered ashore from deeper water or where a beachhead would not allow the vessel to be grounded forward after ballasting
    Armament (varied with availability when each vessel was outfitted. Retro-fitting was accomplished throughout WWII. The ultimate armament design for United States vessels was
