  • The first Adroit was laid down 31 July 1941 by the Commercial Iron Works, Portland, OR
  • Launched 21 February 1942
  • Commissioned Adroit (AM 82), 28 July 1942
  • Reclassified as a Submarine Chaser, PC-1586, 1 June 1944
  • Decommissioned 14 December 1945
  • Struck from the Naval Register 8 January 1946
  • Transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal 18 March 1948
  • Fate unknown.

  • Beam 23'
  • Draft 6' 6"
  • Speed 16 kts.
  • Complement 65
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one 40mm mount and two depth charge projectors
  • Propulsion: Two 900hp Cooper Bessemer GNB8 diesel engines, Farrel-Birmingham single reduction gear, two shafts.

    Preliminary design plan, probably prepared during consideration of what became the Adroit (AM-82) class. This drawing, dated 6 January 1941, is for a 360-ton (full load displacement) vessel with a waterline length of 170 feet. Scale of the original drawing is 1/8" = 1'.
