Auk Class Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 29 July 1942 by the Winslow Marine Railway and Shipbuilding Co., Inc., Seattle, WA
  • Launched 21 November 1942
  • Commissioned USS Sage (AM 111), 23 August 1943
  • Decommissioned in February 1947 at Orange, TX and laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet Texas Group, Orange
    Naval Vessel Register of 1 January 1949 lists out of commission, in reserve as August 1946
  • Recommissioned 16 March 1951
  • Reclassified as a Fleet Minesweeper (Steel Hull), MSF-111, 7 February 1955
  • Decommissioned 19 April 1955 at Green Cove Springs, FL
  • Struck from the Naval Register 1 July 1972
  • Sold to Mexico 4 November 1973 and renamed ARM Hermenegildo Galeana (C 86)
  • Reclassified G-19
  • Renamed ARM Mariano Matomoros (P117) in 1993 to free her name for the former USS Bronstein (FF 1037) acquired that year
  • Fate unknown.
