Auk Class Minesweeper/Strive Class Coastal Minelayer: Laid down, 17 November 1941 at American Shipbuilding Co., Cleveland, OH; Launched, 16 May 1942; Commissioned USS Strive (AM-117), 27 October 1942; Placed out of commission, in reserve, 14 February 1946 at San Diego, CA and laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet, San Diego Group; Recommissioned, 1 January 1952; Decommissioned, 8 January 1955 at Green Cove Springs, FL; Laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet, Florida Group, Green Cove Springs; Reclassified Fleet Minesweeper (Steel-hulled), MSF-117, 5 February 1955; Conversion to a Coastal Minelayer began 15 September 1958; Reclassified as a Coastal Minelayer, MMC-1, 31 October 1958; Struck from the Naval Register 1 October 1959 and transferred to Norway as Gor (N 48). Fate unknown.
