Capable served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union.

Admirable Class Minesweeper:

  • Originally planned as Capable (AMc 132)
  • Reclassified as a Minesweeper, AM-155, 21 February 1942
  • Laid down 12 May 1942 by the Willamette Iron and Steel Corp., Portland, OR
  • Launched 16 November 1942
  • Commissioned USS Capable (AM 155), 5 December 1943
  • Decommissioned 16 August 1945 at Cold Bay, AK; transferred to the Soviet Union and reclassified T-339
  • Assigned to the Pacific Fleet 31 August 1945
  • Participated in the Kurile Islands, Japan landing operation in August 1945
  • Reclassified Fleet Minesweeper (Steel Hull), MSF-155, 7 February 1955
  • Converted to an Auxiliary 11 July 1956
  • Scrapped 18 January 1960
  • Struck from the Naval Register 1 January 1983.
