Admirable Class Minesweeper:

  • The first Lucid was laid down 20 February 1943 by the American Shipbuilding Co., Lorain, OH
  • Launched 5 June 1943
  • Commissioned USS Lucid (AM 259), 1 December 1943
  • Decommissioned 28 August 1945 at Miami, FL
  • Transferred to the Republic of China in February 1948 and renamed Yung Ting (AM 45)
  • Reclassified as a Survey Ship and renamed Yang Ming (AGS 362)
  • Permanently transferred to the Republic of China 12 March 1948 and struck from the Naval Register the same day
  • Decommissioned 1 July 1972 and struck from the Chinese Navy list
  • Fate unknown.

  • Armament: One 3"/50 cal. dual purpose mount and two 40mm gun mount, six 20mm gun mounts, one depth charge projector (hedgehog), four depth charge projectors (K-guns) and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,710shp Cooper Bessemer GSB-8 diesel engines, National Supply Co. single reduction gear, two shafts.
