Algerine Class Minesweeper: Laid down 19 November 1942 as AM-336 by Toronto Shipbuilding, Ltd., Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Renamed Redfern Construction Company in August 1943); Renamed HMCS Solebay; Renamed HMS Scorpion; Launched 7 April 1943; Renamed HMS Skipjack; U.S. Navy contract canceled 20 December 1943; Contract taken over by Royal Navy and completed 29 April 1944 as HMS Skipjack (J 300); Scrapped in March 1959.

Specifications: Displacement 850 t.; Length 225'; Beam 35' 6"; Draft 8' 6"; Speed 16.5 kts; Complement 85; Armament one 4" and eight 20mm mounts; Propulsion verticle triple expansion, reciprocating steam engine, two shafts.
