Coastal Minesweeper: Built in 1936 as Vashon by the Seattle Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Seattle, WA; Acquired by the Navy 23 October 1940; Commissioned USS Cockatoo (AMc 8), 25 April 1941; Transferred to the Maritime Commission, 23 September 1946. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 185 t.; Length 88'; Beam 23' 4"; Draft 8' 11"; Speed 9 kts.; Complement 17; Armament one .50 cal. machine gun; Propulsion one 240bhp Atlas 4HM 2124 diesel engine, one shaft.
