Coastal Minesweeper: Built in 1937 as New Conti di Savoia by the Harbor Boat Works, Terminal Island, CA; Acquired by the Navy, 28 October 1940; Converted to a Coastal Minesweeper and placed in service as USS Sanderling (AMc 11), 18 April 1941; Placed out of service, 18 September 1944; Struck from the Navy Register 14 October 1944; Sold back to her former owner, the New Conti di Savoia Fishing Corp., San Pedro, CA in February 1945.
Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 180 t.; Length 77' 8"; Beam 20' 6"; Draft 3' 9"; Speed 10 kts.; Complement 16; Armament two .30 cal. machine guns.
