Accentor Class Coastal Minesweeper: Laid down, 12 April 1941 as Aggressor by the Greenpoint Basin and Construction Co., Greenpoint, Long Island, NY; Renamed Advance, 23 May 1941; Launched, 28 June 1941; Placed in service as USS Advance (AMc 63), 10 October 1941 at the New York Navy Yard; Placed out of service, 6 December 1945 at Charleston, SC; Struck from the Naval Register, 3 January 1946; Sold for scrap, 3 March 1947.
Specifications: Displacement 224 t.(fl); Length 97' 1"; Beam 22'; Draft 9'; Speed 10 kts; Complement 17; Armament two .50 cal machine guns; Propulsion one 400bhp Union L8 diesel engine, one shaft.
