Adjutant Class Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 29 April 1952 as AMS-148 by the George W. Kneass Co., San Francisco, CA
  • Launched 11 April 1953
  • Completed 7 April 1954
  • Transferred to The Netherlands 21 April 1954 and placed in service as Breskens (M 855)
  • Reclassified by U. S. Navy as a Coastal Minesweeper, MSC-148, 7 February 1955
  • Placed out of service 26 March 1976 and returned to U.S. custody (on paper only)
  • Struck from the Navy Register 1 July 1976 and sold to Pounds Marine Shipping of Havant, United Kingdom
  • Sold in 1976 to the Nizam of Hyderabad, India and renamed Kalbarrie
  • Seen in 1989 at Perth, Australia rotting at the pier
  • Sold in 1990 to Jay Harman and renamed Pax
  • Donated in August 2012 to the Returned Veterans Retreats Association with the intentions of bring her to seaworthy status.
