Adjutant Class Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 29 February 1952 as AMS-168 by the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA
  • Launched 31 December 1952
  • Completed 8 January 1954
  • Transferred to The Netherlands 21 January 1954 and named Bruinisse (M 856)
  • Reclassified by U. S. Navy as a Coastal Minesweeper MSC-168, 7 February 1955
  • Placed out of service 16 June 1972
  • Struck from the Naval Register 18 September 1972 and returned to U. S. Navy (on paper only)
  • Sold for scrap 17 January 1974 to Pounds Marine Shipping of Havant, United Kingdom.
