MSC-172 Class Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 28 October 1954 as AMS-174 by Wilton Feyenoord, Rotterdam, Holland under the off-shore procurement plan of the Military Defense Assistance Pact
  • Reclassified by U. S. Navy as a Coastal Minesweeper, MSC-174, 7 February 1955
  • Completed 20 December 1955
  • Commissioned Roermond (M 806)
  • Converted to a Diving Tender in 1968
  • Decommissioned in 1987 and used for spare parts
  • Struck from the Navy register in 1996 and transferred to the Sea Cadets at Delfzijl, Holland
  • Returned to the Dutch Navy in 1997 and replaced by Naarden (M 823), ex-MSC-183
  • Transferred to the Sea Cadets unit at Lemmer, Holland in 2002.
