MSC-172 Class Coastal Minesweeper:

  • Laid down as AMS-176 in The Netherlands under the off-shore procurement plan of the Military Defense Assistance Pact and based on the design of the British "Ton" Class Coastal Minesweeper
  • Reclassified by U. S. Navy as a Coastal Minesweeper, MSC-176, 7 February 1955
  • Launched 2 September 1955
  • Completed 21 April 1956
  • Commissioned Abcoude (M 810), 18 May 1956
  • Struck from the Naval Register 5 November 1993
  • Sold to Peru 12 July 1994 for 450.000 dutch guilders and 160.000 dutch guilders for reserve parts and renamed BAP Carrasco (AH 171)
  • Used as a Hydrographic/Oceanographic Research vessel in 1998
  • Fate unknown.
