  • Laid down as Motor Minesweeper AMS-228 by Ch. Augustin Normand, Le Havre, France under the off-shore procurement plan of the Military Defense Assistance Pact
  • Reclassified by U. S. Navy as a Coastal Minesweeper, MSC-228, 7 February 1955
  • Launched 31 December 1955
  • Completed 21 February 1956 as Canopus (M 754)
  • Commissioned 17 September 1956
  • Reclassified as a Patrol Craft in 1969 and assigned hull number P-659 in 1973
  • Decommissioned in September 1986
  • Fate unknown.

  • Draft 8' 3"
  • Speed 14 kts.
